Simulation Overview

Design thinking is more than simplifying the understanding of users or creating products and services that are simple to access and utilize. The science behind design thinking can be described as a discipline that has clearly defined methods and processes. It can certainly be learned even if you are convinced that you don't possess the ability to design. We are confident that everyone can recognize an excellent product or service. It also means that you're a designer.

You begin as an intern for Martin's Mart - a popular hypermarket chain store located in Atlantis. The goal is to enhance the shopping experience of Martin's Mart's customers and make a significant improvement to their main revenue KPIs based on Design Thinking principles

SimBytes and description

What is Design Thinking?

Design thinking goes beyond just simplifying user understanding or building products and services which are easy to access and use. Design thinking is a science with clearly articulated methods and processes. Yes, it can be learnt even if you believe you don’t have design sense. Trust us, all of us have an innate ability to appreciate a well-designed product or service. That also means, you have a design sense.

What-if mode of Design Thinking.

“What is” is the current state of affairs, “What-if” is a mode of thinking which ensures the future situations are different and better. Unless you Empathize with your users, you will never be able to define the actual problem. Also note, most of the times, your users will not know what they really want.

Wows! mode of Design Thinking.

Decision to engage with a product and service is often emotional. Design Thinkers must validate their assumptions with engaging their audience at an advanced stage. Your product or service may not have all the Bells and Whistles yet, that should not stop you from showcasing the future to your users. It’s not late to change your strategy at this point. Imagine the loss once the product or service is built.

Understanding and Implementing “What Works”.

Invite your users to crash-test your design. Good to Great is achieved when you listen to the segment of users who appreciate your work and are willing to pay for it. Learn how to Launch your Design experiment before going all out to scale it.

Bonus: Design Thinking & other methodologies
