Simulation Overview

This Business Simulation allows you to manage your own Passport Services of the Atlantis Federation. There 55 passport centers spread across the Federation and they are all operating below their optimal capacity. A study conducted by an independent organization throughout the Federation on the services provided from the Federal Government called out the Passport Services as the worst-performing public service institution.

When you are familiar with the basics of operations, you will have to take decisions regarding improving the services offered by the passport office. What good is information when it is not utilized? Are you ready to take this challenge? It's not simple however, it's not impossible too!

Have a clear plan before you go ahead with your hiring. Set your target parameters right and start hiring the resources based on a combination of skill level and experience.

The three must know financial metrices for Operations folks are discussed and experienced in this module.

Testing Financial Waters: Liquidity

There is no operations without constraints. Unless you know your way around them, this can be a showstopper. Explore the obstacles and turn them into opportunities by understanding and implementing the TOC model and Activity Costing

The Time Value of Money

After having laid the foundations for your shops in the previous SimBYTEs, you will nowbegin to execute your decisions. You are required to run Operations for 4 months and the operational performance of Month 04 will determine if you are successful in securing the deal from Atlantis Federation. Each SimBYTE from here on is a Month in the simulation timeline.

Operations with a strong workforce management plan almost always meets deadlines. Yes, there are constraints beyond your control, but good ships are built for high seas. Explore WFM fundamentals and Talent management in this section of the Simulation.

Financial Efficiency Testing

All work and no fun makes a dull team. Review the report for Month 02 Operations and explore employee engagement activities that help you balance performance with staff welfare.

Profit (Myth or Actual)

Review Month 3 results and reflect on the gaps in planning and execution. Analyse the defects report and implement a strong quality assurance process to ensure defects are detected and corrected before they reach the end users.

Value Creation

Cost, Quality & Timelines - the three critical aspects that determine the success of any business. Excelling in one and dropping the ball on the others is not an option. The efficiency of your operations will be measured by the balancing act of the three. Let us see if you are eligible to apply for the public tender. We will use your Month 4 results to check your eligibility to apply for all the 70 passport offices.

Grand Finale

60-90 minute. Your facilitator will collate the reports from the simulator and prepare the dashboard for discussion during the Grand Finale.
